Including Dogs in Wedding Ceremonies 

A wedding is an important event for family and friends to celebrate.  We all know that our four-legged friends are a part of our family!  So, how can you go about including your dog in your marriage events?  Weddings can be stressful, but with a little bit of planning, you will be able to include your dog in no time!

The Engagement – Before the big day, many couples love to include their pets in the engagement photos.  Just think about it.  Your engagement announcement and “save the date” cards will be much more special if you include your fur-baby.  The biggest challenge is preventing your pet from stealing the spotlight.  You will also need to make sure that the photo shoot is safe for your dog!

The Wedding – You will need to decide what role you want your dog to play during the big day.  For example, some dogs serve as “best canine” or ring bearer.  Use your creativity and make sure that your dog’s attire matches the colors of the wedding!  You can order a custom collar or even a bowtie.

Your wedding guests will need to be comfortable.  With this being said, not all animals will be suited to participate in the ceremony.  You will need to determine if your dog is well-behaved around several people.  It is important to include your pet in the rehearsal so that you can see how things pan out.  This will ensure that everything goes smoothly.

Make sure that you assign someone to handle your pet before, during, and after the ceremony.  Don’t forget the food and water!
