Tuesday’s Treat: Cranberry, Honey, and Oat Bites
Welcome to our Tuesday Treat recipe of the week. We are excited to teach you how to make a fun, and healthy treat for your four-legged friend! On the menu today are Cranberry, Honey, and Oat Bites. This is one of our favorite recipes because it is so popular with dogs around the globe! Ingredients
- One cup of fresh or frozen cranberries
- ½ cup of plain Greek yogurt
- One cup of whole wheat flour
- 2/3 cup of oats
- ¼ cup oats (separated)
- One tablespoon of honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Place 2/3 cup of oatmeal into a food processor and grind until the texture is fine. Add to a mixing bowl.
- Add the cranberries to the food processor and puree them. Add to the mixing bowl with the oatmeal.
- Add the flour, ¼ cup of oats, honey, and yogurt to the bowl. Mix the ingredients until a dough is formed.
- Lightly flour a large cutting board or clean countertop. Roll the dough out to ¼ inch thickness.
- Cut out shapes (we recommend a dog bone shape) and place them on the lined baking sheet.
- For soft cookies, bake for 15-18 minutes. For hard cookies, bake for 15 minutes, then flip the cookies. Bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool completely.
