Tuesday’s Treat: Cranberry, Honey, and Oat Bites (Holiday Edition)

Welcome to our Tuesday Treat article of the week. We are excited to teach you how to make a fun, and healthy treat recipe for your four-legged friend! On the menu today are Cranberry, Honey, and Oat Bites. This recipe is perfect for the holiday season. Share the recipe with your friends and family so that other dogs can enjoy this tasty treat!

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup of fresh cranberries
  • ½ cup of plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup of whole wheat flour
  • ¼ cup of ground flaxseed
  • 2/3 cup of oats
  • ¼ cup of oats (separated)
  • One tablespoon of honey

Instructions 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Put 2/3 cup of oatmeal in a food processor and grind until fine in texture. Add to a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  3. Puree cranberries and add to a medium bowl with oats.
  4. Add the flour, ¼ oats, ground flax seed, honey, and yogurt to the bowl. Mix the ingredients until the l dough holds together.
  5. Lightly flour a large cutting board or clean counter. Flip the dough out onto the surface and roll to ¼ inch thickness.
  6. Cut out cookies with your favorite cookie cutter. We always recommend using a cookie cutter in the shape of a dog bone!
  7. Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. For soft cookies: bake for 15-18 minutes. For hard cookies: bake for 15 minutes, then flip the cookies and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool completely.
  10. It is time for your dog to ENJOY this tasty treat.
