We believe that this breed is highly adaptable. The breed can live in smaller homes or apartments without too many issues. They will be fine if they have adequate space for mental and physical stimulation.
However, we do not recommend that the novice pet owner adopt a Valley Bulldog. The breed is highly sensitive and does not tolerate being alone for long periods.
The Valley Bulldog is very friendly. They are highly affectionate with family and love to form strong bonds with the people they are surrounded by all the time. They also get along great with children and can tolerate strangers. There may be some anxiousness or indifference regarding the Valley Bulldog and other dogs. This is where basic obedience and socialization training will work wonders.
This training will allow the Valley Bulldog to become more confident and comfortable around other dogs.
You may find training a Valley Bulldog can be challenging at times.
Although this breed can form an association between a prompt, action, and consequence, it may take longer. The Valley Bulldog is the middle of the pack regarding the intelligence factor.
