Tuesday’s Treat: Apple, Bacon, and Cheddar Bites
Welcome to our Tuesday Treat article of the week. We are excited to feature a fun, and healthy treat recipe for your four-legged friend! On the menu today are Apple, Bacon, and Cheddar Bites. Ingredients
- Two tablespoons of unsalted butter
- Two tablespoons of olive oil
- One egg
- One cup of milk
- One apple (peeled & grated)
- 1 ½ cups of whole wheat flour
- 1 ½ cups of white flour
- 1 ½ cups of cheddar cheese (shredded)
- ¼ cup of cooked bacon (chopped)
- Three tablespoons of fresh parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine the butter, olive oil, and egg until well combined.
- Add the milk, grated apple, flour (white and whole wheat), cheddar, bacon, and parsley to the mix.
- On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for 30 seconds until smooth.
- Roll out the dough into a 10-inch circle, about ½ inch thick.
- Grab your favorite doggie cookie cutter. Cut out the shapes.
- Bake until lightly golden (normally 20 minutes).
- Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
