Tuesday’s Treat: Carrot Cake Bites
Welcome to our Tuesday Treat article of the week. We are excited to teach you how to make a fun, and healthy treat for your four-legged friend! On the menu today are Carrot Cake Bites. This is a perfect treat for your dog and easy to make. Share the recipe with your friends and family so other dogs can enjoy it too!
Ingredients
- One cup of unsweetened applesauce
- ¼ cup of unsweetened almond or peanut butter
- Two large eggs
- Four cups of oat flour
- One cup of grated carrots
- ½ cup of unsweetened coconut flakes
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Grab a large bowl and handheld mixer to mix applesauce, almond or peanut butter, and eggs.
- Add in the oat flour, carrots, and coconut flakes.
- Transfer the dough to a surface, lightly sprinkles with oat flour, and knead 3-4 times until it comes together.
- Use a rolling pin to roll the dough to a ½-inch thickness.
- Grab your favorite cookie cutter and cut out the desired shapes.
- Transfer the shapes to the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the treats until golden brown (usually 20 minutes).
- Allow the treats to cool completely.
- It is now time for your dog to ENJOY!
*Treats can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for two weeks, in the refrigerator for four weeks, and in the freezer for up to four months.
