Fall Activities to Do with Your Dog
Fall is right around the corner! Where has this year gone? You must love the Fall season for its beautiful autumn colors, fantastic food dishes, fun outdoor activities, Halloween, and Thanksgiving! The best thing about the season is enjoying it with your four-legged friend. Below are some ways you can make the most of the season.
Bake delicious pumpkin or apple dog treats. Pumpkin and apple are the staple fruits of fall and happen to be very good for your dog. Pumpkin is beneficial to your dog’s digestive system. Consider making homemade treats and incorporating pumpkin and apples into the recipe. Your dog can help you in the kitchen and be rewarded with a fantastic treat!
Play in a pile of leaves. Fresh fall leaves are the best! Raking up a big pile of leaves is a great way to spend outdoor time with your dog. You can throw your dog’s favorite toys in a pile and encourage them to jump in and retrieve them.
Cuddle up during a horror movie marathon. Grab some blankets, popcorn (or pupcorn), and head to the couch for a night of scares and cuddles.
Take a trip to the pumpkin patch. Who doesn’t love a pumpkin patch during the fall? Your dog would love to explore the pumpkin patch with you and can sniff out their pumpkin to take home. Be sure to call the pumpkin patch ahead of time to find out if dogs are allowed!
Carve or decorate a pumpkin. You can bring out your creativity when it comes to pumpkins! Carve an image of your dog on a pumpkin or paint their face on it. You can even dip your dog’s paws in colorful, pet-safe paint and press their paws onto the pumpkin, making it their own!
Have a Halloween photo shoot. Dogs in Halloween costumes are adorable! Dressing your four-legged friend up in a funny, scary, or original costume will put a smile on everyone’s face. Share the photos with friends and family. You never know if your dog will appear on a magazine cover!
As you can see, there are several things that you can do with your dog in the fall. It is one of the best seasons for outdoor activities! Consider taking a cabin trip and going on a hike as well. Don’t forget about including your dog in your Thanksgiving festivities. They love turkey, cranberries, and sweet potatoes just as much as we do!
