Tuesday’s Treat: Sweet Potato & Salmon Bites 

Welcome to our Tuesday Treat article of the week. This is where we feature a healthy and fun recipe for your four-legged friend! Today we are excited to teach you how to make Sweet Potato & Salmon Bites. Be sure to share this recipe with your friends and family so that other dogs can enjoy this tasty treat as well!

Ingredients 

  • 2 cups canned salmon
  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 ½ cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Open canned salmon and drain in sink. Use a form to finely mash the fish and break up any chunks of bone.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together salmon and sweet potato. Add egg, parsley, and baking powder. Stir well.
  4. Sift in the whole wheat flour, a little at a time, stirring frequently.
  5. Use your hands to roll dough into balls or shapes. Arrange them on a baking sheet and press them down with your thumb.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
  7. Allow the treats to cool completely.
  8. It is now time for your pup to ENJOY this tasty treat!
