Tuesday’s Treat: Meaty Bacon Bites

Welcome to our Tuesday Treat article of the week. This is where we feature a fun and healthy dog treat recipe for your four-legged friend! We are excited to teach you how to make Meaty Bacon Bites today. Your dog will absolutely love these treats. Ingredients 

  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup chicken or beef stock
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • 1 ¼ cup whole wheat flour
  • Extra flour for rolling

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cut bacon slices into small bits and fry in a skillet until crispy. Remove the bacon bits and put them on a plate to cool.
  3. Add cooled bacon fat, egg, and stock to a medium mixing bowl and beat until smooth. Fold in the whole wheat flour along with the bacon bits and knead until a dough forms.
  4. Flour the counter or a large cutting board. Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
  6. Place cookies on a baking sheet between ½ inch to 1 inch apart.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes. Rotate the pan, flip cookies, and reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees. Bake for another 30 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
  9. It is now time for your pup to ENJOY these tasty treats!!!
