Tuesday’s Treat: Doggie Meatloaf w/ Vegetables

Ingredients 

  • 1 ½ pound of lean ground beef
  • three stalks of celery (chopped)
  • two carrots (grated)
  • two eggs
  • one apple (cored and diced)
  • two slices of wheat bread (torn into pieces)
  • 1 cup of regular rolled oats
  • 1 cup of wheat germ
  • 1 6 oz. can of tomato paste
  • four medium potatoes (cubed)
  • three carrots (chopped)
  • one stalk of celery (cubed)

Instructions 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat a large roasting pan with oil and set aside.
  2. Grab a large bowl and mix ground beef, three stalks of celery, grated carrots, apple, eggs, bread, oats, wheat germ, and tomato paste using your hands.
  3. Divide the meat mixture into four equal parts and make loaf shapes. Place the loaves in the roasting pan. Surround them with the potatoes, remaining carrots, and remaining celery. Cover the pan with a lid. 
  4. Bake for 80 minutes or until the meat is cooked through.
  5. Allow the meatloaf to cool completely.
  6. It is now time for your dog to ENJOY!

*Portion the food into containers with one loaf and one-quarter of the vegetables. Refrigerate for up to five days.
