This is a medium-sized dog breed that originated in Germany. If we had to sum up the Eurasier in three words, we would choose loyal, even-tempered, and intelligent. The Eurasier has a vibrant history. A gentleman named Julius Wipfel, who resided in Germany, wanted to find a brilliant and independent dog. He wanted a dog showing a wolf’s adaptability and social behavior while being the ideal family pet. The breed was named Eurasier to reflect its Asian and European heritage.

The breed is a balanced and well-constructed medium-sized dog of Spitz type with prick ears and a coat containing various colors. The Eurasier is self-assured, calm, and even-tempered. They enjoy forming strong bonds with their “pack,” the people they spend the most time with. Mostly, the breed is relaxed towards strangers and not obstructive.

Eurasiers thrive on mental and physical stimulation. They should have good daily walks and active play with other dogs as a part of their routine. While they are calm in the house, the Eurasier is vibrant and energetic while outside. One of the most interesting facts about the breed is that they love to swim!

Easy-to-train dog breeds such as the Eurasier are more adept at quickly forming an association between a prompt, an action, and a consequence. They are intelligent and will show you with a “what’s in it for me?” attitude. This is where positive reinforcement will help during your training sessions. Training sessions must engage this breed, or the Eurasier will become bored.
