Sports are a big part of life, and they spark a ton of interest among many people! What is your opinion of a good mascot? We believe that the best mascots have been dogs! We want to share our favorite famous collegiate dog mascots that make sporting events even more exciting!

Uga Montage – University of Georgia – Who doesn’t love a bulldog mascot? Uga is the official live mascot of the University of Georgia Bulldogs.

Jonathan the Husky – University of Connecticut – Jonathan is the mascot of UConn. He was named in honor of Jonathan Trumbull, the last colonial and first state Governor of Connecticut.

Butler Blue – Butler University – Butler Blue is a 65-pound, apple-loving, AKC-registered, 100-percent loyal English bulldog.

Handsome Dan – Yale University – In addition to a person wearing a costume, the position is filled by an actual bulldog, the honor (and the title “Handsome Dan”) being transferred to another upon death or retirement.

Reveille – Texas A&M – Students from Texas A&M adopted the very first Reveille in 1931, and they have been using a collie as their mascot since the second Reveille, which became the official mascot in 1952.
