Best Dog Breeds for Someone Who Works All Day 

Do you want a dog but are away from the house most of the day? You may be wondering if you can make it work! If you take the time to choose the dog you want and provide them with fun activities, they will be okay alone all day while you are at work. Certain dogs need more social interaction and exercise compared to others. We compiled a list of some dog breeds known for being independent and low-maintenance.

Chihuahua – This dog breed will do OK if left alone for most of the day. However, they should have another dog to hang out with while you are away.

French Bulldog – This dog breed is one of those dogs that needs your companionship and attention but does not require excessive exercise. If your Frenchie has nothing better to do, they will opt for a nap!

Basset Hound – This dog loves to walk around and use their noses but has a relatively low activity level during most of the day. The Basset Hound will probably sleep if you are away from home most of the day.

Greyhound – This dog breed is one of the best dogs for apartment life, and since they are couch potatoes, they spend most of their time sleeping.

Maltese – The best thing about the Maltese is that they are not likely to tear up your house out of boredom and do not require long walks compared to other breeds.

Whippet – As long as this dog breed has a comfortable place to sleep, you will have nothing to worry about!
