Dog Party Safety Tips
Throwing a dog party is supposed to be a great time while you sit back and enjoy cuteness overload! You must do your part to ensure that the dog party is safe as well. There are many things to consider from other dog guests to food. We are here to help you ensure that your dog party is a big hit without the safety concerns!
Behavioral Issues – You must realize that not all dogs get along. Your party will be safe for your canine guests when you invite dogs who do well around other dogs. Some dogs are shy and fearful around other dogs which is a recipe for aggression. You want to ensure that your guest list is full of dogs who are friendly, obedient, and playful.
Party Treats – Talk to the pet owners first if you are planning on making treats for the party attendees. There are some dogs who may be allergic of sensitive to certain ingredients. If you will be setting out party food for people, do not serve anything that can be harmful to dogs. Avoid items such as raisins, grapes, and chocolate.
Escape Artists – Will your party be outdoors or indoors? Either way, you will need to ensure that all locations are enclosed. You may have a dog who is not likely to run off, but you never know what can happen if other dogs are present. The last thing you want is a dog to get away and cause all your guests to panic!
Weather – Have you researched the weather? If you are hosting a party during the dog days of Summer, you will need to ensure that several bowls are full of cold water for your dog guests. Keep in mind that dogs will be running around like crazy and to avoid heat exhaustion or dehydration, they will need to stay hydrated.
