Can Dogs Have a Chicken Allergy? 

Food allergies are less common compared to other types of allergies in dogs. However, it does happen! You may wonder if dogs can be allergic to chicken. Symptoms related to skin issues include red or itchy skin, hives, or fur loss. Hot spots may also develop due to the trauma from your dog constantly licking or chewing on its skin. Digestive symptoms include gas, vomiting, and diarrhea.

If so, your vet may allow you to add in smaller items with chicken to see if they trigger symptoms.

Food allergies are not good. However, they are much easier to manage compared to environmental allergies. It’s difficult to avoid pollen and grasses, but a lot easier to avoid certain foods.
