- Greyhounds are just as speedy as cheetahs! A study competed by Psychology Today stated that Greyhounds are super-fast long-distance runners with high endurance. The cheetah would have a great lead in the race but would eventually lose momentum!
- A blind man and his guide dog hiked the Appalachian Trail. For eight months during 1990, a dog named Orient helped his bling owner along the way.
- 30% of Dalmatians are deaf in one ear. On average, 30% of Dalmatians are deaf in one ear and 5% are deaf in both. This is something to do with genetics. Dalmatians with larger dark patches are less likely to be deaf.
- Bloodhound’s have a sense of smell that can be used as evidence in court. That is nothing though! Bloodhound’s can also follow tracks that are over 300 hours old and can stay on a trail for over 130 miles. Crazy, right?
- Three dogs survived the sinking of the Titanic. There were three first-class dogs that survived – two Pomeranian’s and a Pekingese. They were wrapped up in a blanket and many people assumed that they were babies. It goes to show that they’re family too!
